Cozido à Portuguesa


Portuguese stew is a traditional Portuguese stew. It is a delicacy made up of a myriad of vegetables, meats and cooked sausages.


With regard to vegetables, beans, potatoes, carrots, turnips, cabbages and rice can be cooked. In meats, it is possible to have chicken, pork spare ribs, streaky pork, pork ear, pork sparks and beef from different parts. In sausages, meat chorizo, farinheira, black pudding and blood chorizo ​​are typical. All of these ingredients make up a very strong dish, ideal for cold winter weather.

The way of preparing and the combination of ingredients vary slightly from region to region, despite being a dish that can be found throughout Portugal.
