Golf in Portugal - The Royal & Ocean Golf Courses at Vale do Lobo

When it comes to golfing, Portugal has always been a favourite amongst Northern European golfers. With its excellent climate and a big concentration of golf courses in the popular Algarve, it’s not hard to understand why Portugal is so popular.

The Royal & Ocean Golf Courses at Vale do Lobo in the Algarve provides 36 holes of challenging golf available to play throughout the year. The two courses were designed by the late golfing legend, Sir Henry Cotton and redeveloped by American Architect Rocky Roquemore.

On the Royal Course you can find the most photographed hole in Europe, the 16th, a par three which requires a carry over the cliffs. Both take players through umbrella pine and fig tree-lined fairways down to the cliff’s edge and alongside the beach.
